A plaid, plaid world at ARCH DL IV

Fred and Woodrow

So the fourth installment of LVHRD’s architecture duel touched down at the Music Hall of Williamsburg last Tuesday night. The object for the contestants was to create an eco-compound in Alaska fashioned from the remnants of the Alaskan pipeline, which according to the LVHRD green-eyed prognosticators will soon be summarily dismantled. In order to get the crowd properly Jack Londonized, breathing the pine and feeling the tundra under its collective feet, all were told to arrive either as a lumberjack or a woodland creature. More simply, part of the problem or part of the solution. Most chose to dress as the problem, no doubt a reflection on the location (Williamsburg) and its newly embraced aesthetic (grunge is back, baby!). As for Fred, he was Switzerland as usual – welcoming the company of both the domesticated and the non. In fact, as the night wound down Fred introduced a burly logger to a particularly shy fawn. They left together, nuzzled beard-to-fur. Now if that don’t bring a tear to your eye, you’re probably a lumberjack.Check out ARCH DL IV pics and video here, and keep an eye out for details on the next LVHRD event coming in March.
